A time for miracles

13.12.17

At this festive time of year, Ornua Ingredients UK would like to confirm that miracles really do happen.

Zac is a 10 year old who lives close to our Whitchurch facility in Shropshire. Like most local 10 year old boys, Zac goes to junior school and loves playing football.

But Zac isn’t like most 10 year old boys. Zac has cerebral palsy which affects his hips, knees and ankles and makes walking a real struggle…even with the frame he uses on a daily basis.

However, an operation is available – called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) – which could change his life. But this is not a procedure available on the NHS.

Hence…’Zac’s Miracle’, a fund-raising campaign to collect the £40,000 that the operation will cost.

Local people have magnificently risen to the challenge and we’ve been delighted to do our bit to help, not least through the money collected at our recent Family Fun Day.

But this year we’ve also decided not to make corporate gifts to our customers, but instead to donate more funds to the campaign.

And now for the really great news…we understand this has now taken the fund past its £40k target, meaning Zac can have the surgery which could soon mean he will be able to walk pain-free and with little assistance.

Merry Christmas Zac ☺
